Leila Cabib is a cartoonist, illustrator and animator whose work has been commissioned for newspapers, magazines, books and an environmental museum. She has written and illustrated two nationally syndicated comic strips. Her clients include Time-Life Books, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Gannett newspapers, Cambridge University Press, Cobblestone Publishing Company, the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, the National Science Teachers Association, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the African American Health Program. Leila teaches cartooning and animation—in person and virtually—as an artist in residence in elementary, middle and high schools and in after-school programs. She has designed and conducted workshops for ESOL students and pediatric hospital patients. She also teaches adults in community settings. Leila has a B.A. in English from Bard College and an M.A. in illustration from Syracuse University. A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, she speaks fluent Spanish.
Her name is pronounced “Layla,” just like the Eric Clapton song.
